Hi, I’m MarciaWins, avid DIYer and lover of all things décor and design.
After 20 years of moving every 3-4 years (due to my husband’s military career), my husband and I are planting roots. We bought our “forever home” in central Texas and the house is my dream! Not just because it has the things I’ve always wanted in a home, but also because of what it represents; it is the fruit of our labor.

Here at MarciaWins.com I share all the diy projects and decorating that I am doing in our home. From the way I decorate the different rooms, to the use of items in the spaces themselves, my goal is to create a home with beautiful and functional spaces, authentic to who we are and the things we love to do. MarciaWins.com is also one of my happy places. It is not only where I get share my diy and design, it is also where I get to get lost in my thoughts and ideas and share the things that motivate and inspire me. In addition to all the home stuff I also share some of my everyday life (personal style, cooking and entertaining, traveling, etc.). I am in a season of life where I am unapologetically me and I share that with you all in everything I do. Understand though, that no matter what I do, there is some type of DIY involved!
A Little About Me
My husband and I have been married for over 20 years and we have two wonderful (adult) children. I am first generation American, having moved to the US from Liberia in the early 90’s. My Liberian culture plays a significant role in many different areas of my life, the most apparent, though, is in my decorating style. I have a Master’s degree in Human Service Administration and my “day job” is the Administrator of a specialty clinic. I also own Aroma Blaque Candle Co., which I am hoping will eventually become my only “day job.”
Zodiac Sign
I’m a Pisces (Aries Moon and Libra rising 🙂 I like to say that I am a true Pisces: creative, intuitive (with a capital I), a chronic daydreamer, and according to my family/friends I can sometimes be A BIT emotional.
Favorite Color
My favorite color in general is pink. Not like PINK pink, but like a pale pink that is dull or kinda muted. My favorite color to decorate with is any neutral.
Design Style
I describe my design style as “modern-rustic and culturally inspired.” I love the clean lines that modern design has, the natural materials of rustic design, and character of the items used on African decor.
ntrovert or Extrovert
I would describe myself as an Introvert with situational extroverted tendencies… lol. I ENJOY my alone time but I also love spending time with (at home or out) my circle.
aroma blaque
Aroma Blaque Candle Co. is my candle company. It is truly a labor of LOVE and has been something I have been dreaming of doing since I was young. It officially launches January 2025!
Favorite Food
I have two favorite foods: Salmon (ANY time, ANY where, baked, grilled, fried, stuffed… you name it) and Cassava Leaf and Rice. This is my favorite Liberian dish that I could absolutely live off.
